The site was located directly beside the rail tracks servicing the dry dock yard. The rail tracks linked the yard to the boat lift. Large trawlers were regularly moved to and from the harbour. During the building we were required to clear the tracks given 48hrs notice. This meant careful and detailed coordination with the harbour master and other marine services. Fortunately they all proved to be very practical and amenable. The stone used in the construction was all sourced from Howth quarry.
