The extension and refurbishment of the house, required demolishing the rear wall of house at ground floor level and propping the first floor walls. Lowering the existing ground floor level to the kitchen, dining room and garage area and extending this new floor level into the new extension area. A raft foundation was poured throughout to allow a maximum build area without affecting either neighbour. With 3m high ceilings this produced a very dramatic effect walking from the original floor level in the hall into the large bright living area.
