This site proved very challenging with the railway line, canal and public road directly beside the building. The existing building was gutted leaving only the external walls that were shored during the works. Piling foundations and erecting structural steel extending two stories higher then the original roof with a separate steel stairs and lift for access to each floor. The finished product proved a striking mixture of old and new.
